On Thursday the Apple Online Store experienced a bit of downtime. Once it returned online there was not anything that immediately jumped out as being new or changed leading many to believe the downtime was a simple routine maintenance.
Those that have reviewed the Apple Store with a fine tooth comb realized there is something different. A new feature was added that allows those browsing the store to compare different Macs and hardware configurations.
Simply click the Compare Macs option, which will take you to a new screen where you can select up to three different models to compare. Once you have your Macs selected, you can make changes to the hardware and accessory options and see the updated price as well as technical specifications.
You can even select the same Mac to see how different hardware variations impact the price.
