AutoCAD Mac

If you work in an engineering field or know someone who does, you have most likely heard about AutoCAD. The program has practically become a synonym for engineering design and blueprints. It use to be available on the Mac and then it disappeared for quite some time. Now, Autodesk is brining it back.

“The release of AutoCAD for Mac marks the return of professional design and engineering software to the Mac platform and an important convergence of power and design. Over 5000 customers have helped develop this product through our beta program and they are delighted to have the choice of a native Mac version of AutoCAD.”

The new version of AutoCAD has been designed specifically for the Mac. The application looks like it belongs on a Mac, and even uses familiar Cover Flow and multi-touch gestures that you would find in other Mac apps.

In addition to the return to the Mac, Autodesk has also announced the AutoCAD WS mobile iOS app. The free app is not available in the app store yet, but is coming soon. Using the AutoCAD WS mobile app users will be able to edit and share AutoCAD files on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
