Businessweek is citing three anonymous sources who claim that Apple will include Netflix in their refresh of the Apple TV. Netflix’s streaming service is currently available via an iOS app [iTunes] for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. The iPhone and iPod Touch app was just recently released.
The Apple TV based Netflix service will still require a monthly fee much like the current apps from the app store require.
As the refreshed Apple TV has long been rumored to run iOS we long been suspecting that it would be capable of running streaming apps such as Netflix, Hulu+, and several other services. Busisnesweek‘s sources add more weight to the rumor.
