iOS 4.1 for the iPhone and iPod Touch has been released and is available through iTunes.

iOS 4.1 Update

With this update, Apple has finally added Game Center, which was one of the staple features Apple mentioned when they first announced iOS 4 earlier this year.

In addition to Game Center, iOS 4.1 also bring:

  • Support for High dynamic range (HDR) photos with the iPhone 4, and we assume the 4th generation iPod Touch.
  • The ability to upload HD videos to YouTube and MobileMe (WiFi only).
  • Bug fixes with Bluetooth and support for additional Bluetooth Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) accessories.
  • Direct FaceTime calls from your favorites
  • Bug fixes with the iPhone 4 proximity sensor (about friggin time!!)
  • Bug fixes related to Nike+
  • Improved performance on the iPhone 3G
  • A number of security related WebKit, ImageIO, and Facetime. For more information on these changes, see Apple KB HT4334.
