While most people are enjoying their new iPhone 4 by taking pictures, shooting HD video, or making use of the faster processor and more memory, iFixit is doing what they do best. Taking it apart.
Here are a few notes from iFixit’s teardown:
- iPhone 4 32G is Model A1332.
- 3.7V 1420 mAh Li-Polymer battery
- 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 core processor. Same as the iPad and the Samsung Wave S8500.
- Apple branded, Cirrus Logic 338S0589 audio codec. Same as in the iPad.
- Broadcom BCM4329FKUBG 802.11n w/ Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and FM receiver. Broadcom BCM4750IUB8 single-chip GPS receiver.
- Front panel is made of Corning Gorilla Glass.
- LCD panel is glued to the glass and digitizer. Looks like if the glass breaks, you’ll be replacing a lot more this time around.
