Gizmodo has received more than a dozen emails from users who claim that they are unable to reproduce the reception issues after their iPhone 4 was replaced by Apple. While there is no supporting proof, some believe Apple may have done something to the antenna or the metal band to improve reception. iFixit suggest that Apple could be applying a non-conductive coating to the metal band.

Gizmodo is going to be meeting with some of the users who have sent in emails claiming to have a “fixed” iPhone, while iFixit is asking users with recently manufactured iPhone 4s to experiment with a multimeter. We will post more information when / if it becomes available. [Gizmodo, iFixit]
